Holy MOLY! The Indiana State Fair is coming, and you’ll be loosening your belt with this year’s new delicacies.
Among them an Inside-Out Grilled Cheese, which I had to look up, so here’s how they make that.
Other items that will have you woozy after that third spin on the Tilt-A-Whirl include a deep-fried chicken and waffle sandwich: fried chicken strips stuffed inside a waffle and then topped with maple syrup and powdered sugar. There are also BBQ pork potachoes… kind of a cross between fries and nachos, which are also debuting this year. BBQ pulled pork on top of seasoned pit potatoes and topped with cheese and sour cream. I, myself, am looking forward to the hatch green chili meatballs.
Let’s not forget about dessert. In addition to the already famous and popular deep-fried Twinkies and deep-fried Oreos, deep-fried sugar cream pie makes it debut this year. Yes… a slice of Wick’s Sugar Cream Pie dipped in funnel cake batter, deep fried and topped with powdered sugar and chocolate sauce.
